Job Description
Position: Commercial Agriculture Manager
Position Objectives:
To lead development of commercial side of the agriculture business and to assist Senior Agriculture Manager in developing a reliable agronomy team to execute the Five-Year Agriculture Plan.
Specific Responsibilities
To work with local governments on funding support of the establishment of the potato growing base in the Northeast.
To develop a reliable group of growers in both Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia to deliver raw materials, including land price and lease negotiation, grower selection, growing contract negotiation and so on.
To manage contractual supply agreements including chemicals, fertilizers, farm equipments and so on.
To develop and implement plans for management of seed and potato warehouses.
To assist Senior Agriculture Manager in developing and implementing safety plan for the agriculture department.
To work with the accounting department in developing processes and controls for the daily agriculture business and to generate reports for upper management.
To manage interfacing with production to ensure the objective of smooth communication is achieved and timely raw delivery is achieved.
To supervise development and implementation of both short-term and long-term commercial potato growing plan (variety split, growing) location according to the factory requirement
To supervise organization of all farm equipment required for corporate farming and seed production
Position Qualifications:
a. Minimum Education: Bachelor degree or above in agronomy or agri-business. An MBA is preferable.
b. Minimum Experience: 5 years working experience with agricultural or similar projects in multinational or large state-owned companies.
c. Minimum Skills:
Strong communication skills
Strong people management skills
Team player
Potato growing background is preferred
Exceptional oral and written English skill
Computer skills in Excel, Word, Power Point and so on.
